A Break from the Crowd

This piece is actually a future glimpse at the plot of Hunter and Thief, wherein Jayce and Esli attend a high-class auction to retrieve the datastick before it lands in the hands of a wealthy threat to the Empire.

It's a rather extravagant affair, and while Jayce can blend in among the attendees with ease, Esli struggles and is drained by the entire event.  In a moment of concern, Jayce asks Esli to dance to give them some privacy, and Esli finds herself the most comfortable she's been all night.

This moment was really sweet and tender in the story, and while it is a long while off, I had the urge to illustrate it.


If you're new to my work, these two are the protagonists of my fancomic, Hunter and Thief.  The story is set in the Star Wars universe, and follows a bounty hunter and his companion as they traverse across the grittier parts of the galaxy--through filth, wilderness, and undercity, but also the gaudy facades of the corrupt elite, as depicted above.
